The Skyline Thunderbirds of Pratt kick off their high school football season at home against South Barber on Friday, September 2. They hope to build on the past successful years with a great 2022 season.
Head coach Andrew Nation said the team is comprised of 19 total players with 2 seniors, 4 juniors, 5 sophomores, and 8 freshmen. Nation said he expects strong leadership from the upperclassmen, as most of their players are sophomores and freshmen.
He also stressed the importance of getting better every day, whether it be in practice or in the weight room.
“My biggest goals are perfect attendance in the weight room, as well as perfect attendance at practices,” Nation said. “I can tell that the thing the team is most excited about is the everyday journey. They have demonstrated a strong effort to work hard when the spotlight is on them, and even when it is not.”
Nation said that the team has already taken preparations outside of practice, and they run pre-practice on their own.
“That’s a credit to their parents and their homes. I am very thankful for that. It should carry us as far as we are willing to go,” he said.
