MADISON, Wis. — The 2021-22 Madison Capitols were a team you may not have seen coming as they were pinned as the underdog while making a historic run to the Clark Cup finals, but that success has made the organization hungry to continue to build off of it.

“We sat on the other side of the blue line while Sioux City raised the cup,” said Corey Leivermann, head coach and general manager of the Madison Capitols. “I think that’s a motivator itself right there for a lot of the guys returning.”

“It’s not gonna be the same year as last year,” said Leivermann. “We don’t have

Simon Latkoczy

who really did a good job and kind of carried us down the stretch, so you’ve gotta look at a guy like

Mason Kucenski

who learned under him who is gonna get every opportunity to be the guy here this year.”

Quinn Finley

is another player who will be returning to the roster this upcoming season. Over the summer, Finley was selected by the New York Islanders in the third round of the NHL Draft, and 78th overall. The young forward contributed 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 points in his 2021-22 campaign.
