The beloved Emmerdale couple were both devastated when it was revealed Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) had an ectopic pregnancy. Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was initially nervous about becoming a father but came round to the idea of having a baby. Unfortunately his dream was ripped away when Charity learned her pregnancy wasn’t viable.
In upcoming episodes, Mackenzie will try to speak to Charity about how he’s really coping with the loss of their baby.
He decides to take her to a wellness retreat and at first it seems they are bonding as their foray into mediation is disastrous as they ditch the session, laughing as they do.
The pair begin to kiss but Charity worries they haven’t been intimate since losing the baby and retreats.
Mackenzie decides it’s the perfect moment to tell Charity he wants to try for another child.

Speaking about the storyline, actress Emma admitted Charity is “mean-spirited” and doesn’t hold back when she lashes out at Mackenzie.
She’s feeling “vulnerable” about the loss of their baby and fears losing Mackenzie if she can’t give him what he wants.
“Charity is so incandescent with rage about the fact that it’s too soon to be talking about trying again,” she told Metro.co.uk.
“Especially with her age she feels quite vulnerable that if she’s capable of having an ectopic pregnancy she’s capable of having another miscarriage.”
