With over 3,200 people in attendance at Hodgetown Stadium in downtown Amarillo, the bats of the Amarillo Firefighters were too much for the Amarillo Police Department in the 14th annual Boots and Badges charity game.
Falling behind early in the game, the Boots overcame a 5-run deficit to shut down the Badges over the second half of the game and score 15 consecutive runs to gain a commanding 15-5 win. This marks the fifth straight win for the Amarillo Firefighters.
The true winners of the night were charity, with all proceeds going to the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle and the Coffee Memorial Blood Center.
Susan Talley, executive director of the Texas Panhandle 100 Club, was pleased with the turnout to support charity.
“It was an awesome night of family fun for supporters of our firefighters and police officers to raise money for a worthy cause,” Talley said.
