HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – This past weekend featured a full slate of events in Havre, and the local Chamber says it was a success.
The biggest event was the 2nd Annual Bear Paw Marathon, as over 260 people participated in a race and over 100 people dedicated their time to volunteering to help it run smoothly.
Havre Chamber Executive Director Jessica Fagerbakke says she is proud of how the community came together.
Fagerbakke says people from 13 states and two provinces came to Havre to participate in the Marathon or other events. She says feedback was overwhelmingly positive, although one tweak they will make in the future is to ensure even better wayfinding around the area.
“We had really, really positive feedback about the course and how smooth everything went and how encouraging all the volunteers were at the water stations, and the fire department and sheriff’s department helping out with having pilot cars and keeping everyone safe.”
Fagerbakke says work is already getting started on planning the 3rd annual Bear Paw Marathon.
